An interactive workspace concept, with a separate report for the equipment, budget and engineering questions.
Division edition 04 Updated October 30, 2026
Inside the imagined lab · Image details
Generated garage-lab concept, October 30, 2026. OpenAI image tool, directed in Codex by LUCIEN. This is an imagined research environment, not a photograph of an existing DRKNYT facility. Image-model version was not exposed.
The experience
A place to work. A place to live.
Explore the revised room: a deeper space, a supportive chair, Detroit beyond the window, and a display arrangement for the desk and lounge.
Generated concept · revision 6 · October 30, 2026
OpenAI image tool; original room directed in Codex by ONEIRO, screen revision by SWITCHBOARD under LUCIEN. Original DRKNYT artwork composed onto the scene. This is a proposed room, not a photograph or measured installation.
Image details and limits
The exact image-model version was not exposed. Screen sizes, mounting, cabinet protection, ventilation and viewing distances require a measured design. The room additions are unpriced. Screen copy is illustrative; the two center screens share a panoramic hero. Original outputs and composition records are retained.
These are product references for the larger, dated Dreamlab scenario. They are distinct from the immediate equipment request. Final configuration, prices and installation remain to be verified.
Mac Studio
The proposed main research computer is intended for exploring language models that run locally, alongside other research work.
Reference image
Apple · High-memory local-model research. Product-family image; the dated Ultra configuration needs its own current quote.
Mac worker
A separate Mac is proposed for development work, including builds and testing, so that research and day-to-day work can be considered as separate jobs.
Reference image
Apple · Development, builds and agent jobs. Product-family image; not proof of the retained worker’s chip or memory.
GPU workstation
A separate workstation with a graphics processing unit (GPU) is proposed for research and video work that may need GPU computing.
Reference image
Newegg · ABS Zaurion tower for a separate NVIDIA research worker. The listing has conflicting CPU/model text; confirm the exact configuration in writing.
Two eight-bay NAS units
Two network-attached storage (NAS) enclosures are proposed for shared storage across the lab. Each enclosure has eight drive bays.
Reference image
Synology · Synology DS1825+ family. One enclosure pictured; the scenario budgets two plus drives and upgrades.
Fast direct storage
This external storage enclosure is proposed for active work that benefits from storage connected directly to a computer.
Reference image
OWC · OWC ThunderBlade V4 enclosure. The retained scenario uses 16TB; capacity is not identifiable from this photograph.
10GbE network
A fast wired network is proposed to connect the lab’s computers and shared storage. “10GbE” means 10-gigabit Ethernet, a wired networking standard.
Reference image
NETGEAR · NETGEAR XS508TM family. Official Japan regional variant shown; the retained quote specifies the US variant.
Lab power protection
Battery backup units are proposed for selected lab equipment during a power interruption. Their intended role is to allow time to respond or shut equipment down safely.
Reference image
Adorama · APC SMT2200C family; two planned in the dated scenario. Load, runtime and appropriate circuits still need review.
Spatial testing
A spatial-computing headset is included as a reference for testing interfaces that use a person’s surrounding space.
Reference image
Apple · Apple Vision Pro family, for defined spatial-interface tests. Fit and configuration are separate decisions.
Phone testing and capture
A phone is proposed for testing mobile experiences and capturing material for the lab’s work.
Reference image
Apple · Apple iPhone Pro family. Two finishes shown as product reference; the budget includes one phone.
Wearable testing
A watch is proposed for testing notifications and other interactions on a wearable device.
Reference image
Apple · Apple Watch Ultra family, for notification and device workflows. Band and case selection need confirmation.
Touch ID keyboard
A keyboard with a numeric keypad and Touch ID, Apple’s fingerprint sign-in feature, is shown as a possible future lab accessory.
Reference image
Apple · Apple Magic Keyboard with numeric keypad. A future lab accessory; the current desk already has a keyboard.
